Emergency Room RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's 101-bed Emergency Department as a Travel RN. This is a 91-day assignment starting September 7, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour day shifts per week (6:45 AM–7:15 PM). You will earn $1,898 per week.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center. Patient ratios typically run 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You will float to all sections within the ED—including the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, triage, and other ED areas—but will not float outside the department. Every other weekend scheduling is required, with no block scheduling commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, efficient care aligned with AIDET standards and hospital patient experience requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner electronic health record system
• Operate Baxter infusion pumps and GE cardiac monitors
• Collaborate with ED techs, cardiac monitoring staff, internal processing, unit clerks, and nursing teams
• Keep patient boards current with visit information
• Demonstrate real-time coaching and feedback skills within a strong team environment

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting (required)
• Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
• Previous HCA healthcare system experience preferred

Required Certifications at Hire

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
