Neuro ICU RN Job in Castro Valley, CA

Sutter Health Eden Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Neuro ICU. You will provide specialized care to adult and geriatric patients in a Level II Trauma ICU and Neuro/Stroke ICU setting, working 12-hour night shifts on a 3-days-per-week schedule.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights with every-other-weekend requirement; 4 weekend shifts per month
• Patient ratio: 1:2 (days, nights, and weekends)
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: September 21, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,156
• No on-call required

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for post-thrombectomy and TNK patients requiring detailed and frequent neuro checks
• Manage post-procedural and surgical trauma patients
• Provide post-neurosurgery and traumatic brain injury care
• Advanced skills: arterial line and central line management, ventilator management, EVD and lumbar drain management, ICP monitoring, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, blood product and massive transfusion protocols, CVA/acute stroke management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, IV insulin protocols, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• May float to ED or Step-Down Unit as needed

Requirements

• Current California RN license
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year Neuro ICU experience (must be reflected on application)
• Travel nursing experience required
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications (TNCC preferred)
• All certifications must be current and in hand at submission
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge experience and community hospital experience preferred

You will have access to interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
