ICU Registered Nurse Job in Castro Valley, CA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Sutter Health Eden Medical Center, caring for adult and geriatric patients in a Level II Trauma ICU and Neuro/Stroke ICU setting. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 21, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week
• Every other weekend required; 4 weekend shifts per month
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekly pay: $2,156

Role Responsibilities

You will provide direct patient care to post-thrombectomy, TNK, post-procedural and surgical trauma, and medical-surgical patients. You may float to the ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department as needed. Your clinical focus will include frequent neuro checks, ICP and EVD management, post-cardiac arrest cooling protocols, and preparation of patients for organ procurement.

Required Skills and Experience

• Current California RN License, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in Neuro ICU
• Travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Arterial line management, central line care, and ventilator management
• CVA and acute stroke management, external ventricular drain management, and ICP monitoring
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytic administration
• Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• BiPAP/CPAP management and blood product administration
• Interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias
• Traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury care
• Camino Bolt management and massive blood transfusion protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC certification
• Previous charge nurse experience
• Community hospital experience
• Trauma Level I experience
