ICU RN Job in Redding, CA

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 15, 2026. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) with every other weekend requirement at this Level 2 Trauma facility.

Unit Overview

• 30-bed ICU/Trauma ICU unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2 (90% of shifts are 1:2)
• Charge nurse available 24/7 without patient assignment
• Intensivist present 24/7
• Respiratory therapy assigned 24/7; Hamilton ventilators used
• Cerner charting system
• Navy scrubs required

Your Role

You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced trauma ICU environment. You may float to PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surge units as needed. You must be comfortable titrating drips including vasopressors and sedation, interpreting telemetry strips independently, and managing patients requiring ICP monitoring, ventriculostomies, or post-TPA treatment. A unit secretary will run telemetry strips.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of ICU specialty experience; previous travel experience preferred
• Trauma experience required
• Experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies, or post-TPA patients
• Current ACLS and BLS certification
• PALS certification preferred (required if assignment extends beyond 6 months)
• NIHSS certification required
• Must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site day one (pass/fail)

Compensation & Logistics

Weekly pay is $2,131. You will receive 1 day of unit orientation with additional time provided if needed. The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks.
