PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend shift schedule with every other weekend required
• Weekly guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 hours - must be indicated on submission form
• 13-week assignment length
• No on-call requirements
• Unit consists of 29 beds with patient ratios of 1:3/4
• Float to any department with equal or lower acuity when needed
• Provide direct patient care for post-operative, trauma, and high acuity medical patients
• Care for post-op patients from high acuity surgeries as well as lower acuity surgical patients requiring cardiac drips, BiPAP, and similar interventions
• Utilize nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for all age groups
• Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care and patient confidentiality
• Must have Stepdown or ICU experience, post-op care, BiPAP, cardiac drip management, time management, and critical thinking skills
• 2 years of Stepdown experience required
• Current RN license required - must be eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only
• EMR system: EPIC
• Dress code: Black scrubs required; must meet facility standards (specific t-shirts or scrub top/jacket with facility logo and black scrub pants)
