PICU RN Job in Tucson, AZ

You are an RN with a minimum of 2 years of recent PICU experience and a track record of travel nursing assignments. You will work the night shift—three 12-hour shifts per week—at BUMC Tucson, located at 1625 N Campbell Ave. This 89-week assignment begins October 26, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,570.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assessing patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural needs, and discharge planning requirements
• Reviewing patient history and physical with patients and families, ensuring timely completion
• Reviewing diagnostic and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulating and implementing individualized plans of care aligned with medical orders
• Providing direct care per physician orders and nursing protocols in compliance with facility standards
• Delegating appropriately and supervising licensed nurses and support personnel
• Evaluating patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan as needed
• Documenting all assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in patient records in a timely, legible manner
• Participating in shared leadership initiatives and contributing to quality improvement efforts

Requirements:

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent previous PICU RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Willingness to float to other pediatric areas as needed for appropriate patient assignments
• Standard precautions compliance due to exposure risk to blood and bodily fluids

Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree and professional certification.
