RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Scheduled every other weekend and holidays in rotation
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3, including holding inpatient PCU/med surg admissions
• Float policy requires travelers to float first, including to the emergency department or PCU to care for PCU or ICU holds
• Bedside shift report required for every patient at each transfer of care
• Use i-mobile phones and mobile computer workstations on wheels
• Document using Meditech system
• Must be able to manage 1-3 ICU patients including patients on ventilators
• Must be proficient in reading telemetry strips
• Prior CVICU experience required
• Advanced skills required: CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and phlebotomy
• Administer breathing treatments including inhalers and nebulizers outside of ICU
• Perform and assist with procedures including post-op day 0 CABG, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, and advanced hemodynamics
• Experience with neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, bolts (Codman), and Arctic Sun induced hypothermia preferred
• Minimum 36 months RN experience required with at least one year in an ICU
• One previous successful travel nursing assignment preferred, ideally in a Meditech facility
• BSN preferred
• Advanced certifications preferred
• TNCC certification preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Required dress code: Navy uniform
