Med Surg RN Job in Lancaster, OH

Fairfield Medical Center is seeking a full-time registered nurse for our Med Surg unit in Lancaster, Ohio. This is a 91-day travel assignment working three 12-hour night shifts per week at $2,241 weekly. Start date: July 27, 2026.

About the Role

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient using the nursing process. Your responsibilities include:

• Provide quality care based on patient assessment needs and established plan of care
• Administer medications and perform treatments in an accurate and safe manner
• Implement physician orders as written and notify the physician of pertinent observations and changes in patient status
• Provide patient and family education from admission through discharge
• Maintain thorough, concise, accurate, and legible documentation of the nursing process
• Accept responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks
• Supervise and direct the work of nursing assistants in a professional manner
• Ensure equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care and report malfunctions to the proper department

Required Skills

You must manage urgent situations calmly and communicate empathically with patients. Strong critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential. You will prioritize work tasks when multiple issues need attention simultaneously and demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and independent decision-making abilities.

Physical Requirements

This is a heavy work environment requiring the ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and frequent patient handling activity.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio nursing license
• CPR certification
• Previous registered nursing experience preferred
