ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with block scheduling available
• Float required between ICU, PCU, MS, and ED based on departmental needs as a Resource Traveler
• Patient ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MS 1:4
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required with strong critical care background
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must be comfortable taking higher patient ratios when floating to PCU and MS units
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Indiana state license must be in hand prior to start - no pending licenses accepted
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Locals (Indiana residents) are not accepted for this position
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Charting system: Cerner (preferred experience)
• Scrub color: Red top, black bottoms
• Parking is free
• Common patient diagnoses include ARDS, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, AKIs, UTIs, and Acute Shock
• Special procedures include Cath Lab, TR Bands, Sheath Pulls, EEGs, Cardioversion, and Stress Tests
• Required equipment experience: Ventilator, Arctic Sun, and Balloon Pump
• Required skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVA/acute stroke management, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, sheath removal, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilator management
