ICU Registered Nurse Job in Fishers, IN

IU Health Fishers Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for their Intensive Care Unit. This is a travel position offering 4x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with block scheduling available. The assignment runs 84 weeks, beginning November 30, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,799.36.

Role Overview

As a Resource Traveler, you will float between ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, and Emergency Department based on departmental needs. You'll manage the following patient ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, and Med-Surg 1:4. You must be comfortable with higher patient volumes and possess a minimum of 3 years of ICU experience. Strong PCU RN candidates will also be considered. Charge experience is preferred.

Clinical Requirements

Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. You will work with a Cerner charting system and manage complex patient diagnoses including ARDS, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, AKIs, UTIs, and Acute Shock. Core clinical skills include arterial line management, ventilator management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips.

Equipment and Procedures

You will have experience with ventilators, Arctic Sun, and balloon pumps. Special procedures you may encounter include Cath Lab support, TR Bands, Sheath Pulls, EEGs, cardioversion, and stress tests.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Indiana residents are not eligible for this position
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Preferred experience with Cerner EMR
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
