PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with an ASAP start date
• 12-hour day/night variable shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours - can be low censused in hour increments as needed; unit will typically low census in 4-hour increments
• 8-bed observation unit with 2 RNs per shift and a 1:4 patient ratio
• Care for patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, CHF, dehydration, pre-op, urology, and GI issues
• Manage drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• Average patient stay up to 48 hours with a high volume of admissions and discharges
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required; EKG exam required during compliance
• Background in observation units or step-down MS/Tele units preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS (ARC or AHA)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Any scrub color permitted
