NICU RN Job in Phoenix, AZ

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Josephs Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning December 7, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,334.

Schedule and Shift Details

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week cycle (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday scheduling based on unit coverage needs
• Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts during this assignment

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required (Level 3 or 4 NICU)
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Cardiac STABLE certification is preferred
• Previous travel experience preferred

Patient Care and Support

• Patient ratios: 1:2 for ICU and 1:3 for Level 2
• Common diagnoses include premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical cases, ECMO, and cooling
• 1 PCT per shift available for support
• Neonatologist and midlevels available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory therapy staff available 24/7
• Floating may be required to mother-baby or labor care units for babies only

Orientation and Systems

• Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab required, including Foley catheter insertion with strict sterile field maintenance
• Additional SIMs Lab components: lifts, restraints, and wound care (educational based)
• 2–3 days of floor-specific unit orientation provided
• Charting performed in Cerner EMR
• Telemetry system: Phillips
• Navy scrubs required
