CVICU RN Job in Raleigh, NC

You will provide direct patient care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at University of North Carolina Health Care System. This is a 12-hour shift position lasting 89 days, starting September 28, 2026. You will earn $2,019.24 weekly.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in the CVICU, you will deliver competent clinical nursing care aligned with professional standards. You will coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting, managing patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide bedside point-of-care testing as required for patient care plans
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs for individual patients and families
• Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update care plans
• Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues and unusual teaching needs
• Utilize multidisciplinary resources in planning care and communicate across the care team
• Identify and address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning
• Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions evaluating patient outcomes
• Communicate relevant information to ensure continuity of care
• Contribute to unit goals and performance improvement activities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for patients and staff

Requirements

You must have a minimum of one year of recent CSICU experience. You hold an active RN license.
