CVICU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as a registered nurse in a 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU unit located on the 3rd floor of Heart Tower at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of April 15, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend rotation with additional days off available through your contract
• Weekly pay: $2,102.40

Clinical Responsibilities

You'll maintain patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity, with downgraded patients at 1:3. Your scope includes IABP management, Impella support, hemodynamics monitoring, patient ambulation, chest tube removal, pacer wire removal, LVAD care, and intubation/extubation procedures. You'll work with GE monitors and Cerner EMR systems.

Requirements and Experience

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Critical Care training required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or CVRU experience
• Preferred certifications: Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care

Unit Expectations

You may float to other ICUs, step-down units, and additional units as needed. Overtime requires approval from charge nurse coordinators. The unit provides highly trained charge nurses and an educator to support your orientation.

• Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs, nursing shoes, hair off shoulders, no artificial nails
• Arrive no earlier than 7 minutes prior to shift start
