CVICU RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's 16-bed cardiovascular ICU as a travel RN. This is a 91-day assignment beginning September 7, 2026, offering 3x12 shifts (days) at $2,102.40 per week.

Role Overview

You will work 12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week on an alternating weekend schedule. Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 3:1 depending on acuity. This RN-only unit has no HUC or PCT support, so you'll manage your own documentation and patient care coordination. Travelers float to all areas of the unit.

Required Experience

• ICU experience with titration of vasopressor medications, sedation, and paralytics
• Ventilator and tracheostomy management
• Telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring, including PA catheter setup and interpretation

Equipment and Procedures

You will work with ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia equipment. Procedures performed on the unit include cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis.

System and Standards

Documentation occurs in Cerner. Scrub colors are all Navy or Navy and White only—no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs except when uniform becomes soiled during your shift.

Desired Qualifications

While no certifications are required, CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications are appreciated. Advanced skills in IABP, Impella, and CRRT are desirable.
