ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking an RN for their 101-bed Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 7, 2026, on a 3x12 nights schedule (6:45 PM–7:15 AM). You will earn $1,885 per week.

Role Overview

You will care for medical and behavioral patients in a high-acuity ED environment. Typical patient ratios are 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You will work across all sections of the ED with no floating outside the department, utilizing Baxter pumps and GE monitors while documenting in the Cerner electronic health record system.

Staffing and Support

Techs are available in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage. Unit clerks support both day and night shifts, ensuring you have administrative coverage throughout your shifts.

Scheduling and Expectations

Every other weekend availability is required; the schedule is built to meet departmental needs and does not accommodate block scheduling. You must be flexible across all ED areas and maintain AIDET patient experience standards, including keeping patient boards updated and demonstrating respectful, collaborative behavior. Navy scrubs are the required uniform.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED experience (100,000+ annual visits) preferred
• Previous HCA experience preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI required on hire
• NIHSS required on hire
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
