Job Details:

• Work night shifts in the Emergency Department
• Every other weekend (EOW) or equivalent of 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling period required
• Minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule required
• Holiday shifts required
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• May float within Zone 1 if extreme need arises, as determined by Nurse Manager
• Call or standby requirements determined by Nurse Manager
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Treat an average of 75+ patients per day in the Emergency Department
• Manage common diagnoses including abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
• Administer common drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia
• Work with RT equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
• Collaborate with phlebotomy team; both RNs and phlebotomy draw labs
• Charge nurse takes patient assignments
• Respiratory therapy available in the ER 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs
• X-ray and CT available within the ER
• In-house security present 24/7 in the ER
• Separate triage area, holding area, and psych/seclusion rooms available
• Fast Track area available
• Document using EPIC charting system
• Wear navy blue scrubs
• Must be within 60 miles of facility; driver's license must be submitted
• Must be present in state during week of orientation
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• BSN not required
• Valid Colorado nursing license required
