NICU RN Job in Los Angeles, CA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a Level III NICU at California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026, paying $2,318 per week.

Schedule and Staffing

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week, starting at 7:00 PM or 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend requirement, including both Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday requirements: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1
• Self-scheduling by seniority with manager balancing

The Role

You will care for patients in a 26-bed Level III NICU. Common diagnoses include premature infants, sepsis, and surgical cases such as gastroschisis and EVAs. You will monitor patients in open bay areas, attend high-risk deliveries in L&D, and manage advanced respiratory support including oscillators, nasal CPAP, rare vents, giraffes for bassinets, atom incubators, and radiant warmers. You will titrate drips including dopamine, dobutamine, versed, and fentanyl.

Requirements

• 3 years of NICU experience in a Level III NICU
• Current BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS certifications
• LA City Fire & Safety certification
• BSN not required

Orientation and Floats

Your orientation includes 3 shifts on the NICU with a preceptor, 6 hours in the nursery, and 6 hours in pediatrics. You will float first to the Nursery and Pediatrics sister unit, which consists of 12 beds with low-acuity patients typically presenting with RSV and pneumonia.
