NICU RN Job in Santa Cruz, CA

You'll work as an RN in the NICU at Dominican Hospital, a Community Level 3 unit with 14 beds. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holidays worked into core rotation
• Weekly pay: $2,318
• Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts for assignments under 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:3
• First to float within the unit
• Common diagnoses: rule-out sepsis, premature infants, late preterm, IDDM, neonatal abstinence syndrome
• No surgical patients; some readmits
• Locked unit; discharges go home or transfer to pediatrics
• No nurse aides on unit

Clinical Support & Technology

• Ventilator experience required; respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Neonatologist or pediatrician on call 24/7
• Pharmacy support available 24/7
• No IV team on unit; lab draws neonatal lab work
• Cerner EMR for charting
• Phillips telemetry system

Requirements & Orientation

• Current BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications
• BSN not required
• 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Navy blue scrubs

You'll join a unit focused on intensive neonatal care with physician coverage and dedicated pharmacy and respiratory support on every shift.
