ED RN Job in San Antonio, TX

Methodist ER Alamo Heights is seeking an RN for their freestanding emergency department. This is a 13-week contract position offering three 12-hour shifts per week at $1,674 weekly pay, starting September 11, 2026.

Role and Environment

You will work in an 8-bed freestanding emergency department with a patient ratio of 1:4. Your responsibilities include IV placement, bloodwork, Foley catheter insertion, breathing treatments, and medication administration. The facility uses Meditech EMR, and experience with that system is preferred. There are no on-call requirements.

Scheduling

Day shift options include 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, or 11:00 AM start times, with a charge nurse role available at the 7:00 AM start. Night shift begins at 7:00 PM, also with charge nurse opportunities. A rotating weekend schedule is required, with 4 out of 8 weekends scheduled. You will work consistent 12-hour shifts.

Requirements and Certifications

You must hold current BLS, ACLS, and one of the following: PALS, ENPC, TNCC, or CPI. A minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience is required. Freestanding emergency department experience is preferred.

Work Environment

Navy blue scrubs are the required dress code. The position calls for a team-oriented, accountable, and compassionate approach to patient care.
