ED Registered Nurse Job in Midland, TX

Join Midland Memorial Hospital's 42-bed emergency department as a Registered Nurse. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts weekly on a 91-day contract, with an expected end date of January 9th, 2027.

Compensation and Schedule

• $2,257 weekly pay
• 3x12 night shifts
• Some holiday work expected

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience; 5–8 years preferred
• Previous travel healthcare experience required
• Level II or III trauma experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and NRP (willingness to obtain if not current)
• Experience managing behavioral and psychiatric conditions, including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, psychiatric holds, and violent behavior

Clinical Responsibilities

You will care for patients across all age groups—neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Your daily census averages 200 patients. Key clinical skills include triage, IV insertion and maintenance, 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, chest tube management, central line care and management, IV vasopressor management, splint application and management, arterial blood gas interpretation, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction.

Support and Environment

You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. Cerner charting system experience is preferred.
