PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Patient ratio of 1:2 across days, nights, and weekends
• Unit systems utilized: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Block scheduling type
• Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise; 1 weekend shift per 6-week schedule
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• On-call and backup call required on weekdays and weekends on a rotating basis during a 6-week schedule; requirements split between all staff
• Holiday coverage expected: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall during assignment period, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment period, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO or schedule changes can be requested post-offer or on-site
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week (Monday through Sunday)
• 40 orientation hours required
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Special procedures include all disciplines of surgery
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
