PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts on a mixed unit including PCU, Med Surg/Tele, and Med Surg
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday for both Night and Day shifts)
• 12 weekend shifts per contract
• Float required to other areas as needed including ICU, ER, and Behavioral Health with assignments appropriate to experience and scope of practice
• No on-call required
• No block scheduling available
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted with greater than 3 years of experience
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Common patient diagnoses include Stroke, NSTEMI, Chest Pain, AKI, Pneumonia, COPD Exacerbation, CHF Exacerbation, Cellulitis, and AMS
• Telemetry work setting with responsibilities including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Pilot Team Nursing Model in place (RN and LPN for 6 patients)
• Utilizes Pyxis medication system
• Charting via EPIC - experience required
• Safe Patient Handling Equipment used on unit
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Free parking available
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Michigan license in hand required - pending license not accepted
• Requested time off exceeding 7 days requires management approval
