CVOR RN Job in Phoenix, Arizona

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CVOR) at Banner Estrella Medical Center, located at 9201 W Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ. This is a travel nursing assignment with a duration of 89 days, starting November 9, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• Shift: 4x10 days
• Weekly pay: $3,531
• On-call availability required, including weekends and holidays as needed

Your Responsibilities

You will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients according to organizational policies and professional nursing standards. You will assist physicians with advanced surgical tasks and equipment, including cardiopulmonary bypass and heart-lung machine operation, trans-esophageal echocardiogram studies, cardiac output assistive devices, and vascular access interventions.

Additional duties include performing and interpreting cardiac and vascular lab tests, reviewing patient histories and diagnostics, reporting abnormal results to physicians, and formulating individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. You will delegate appropriately, provide nursing supervision to licensed and non-licensed personnel, and maintain accurate and timely documentation. You are also expected to participate in unit shared leadership initiatives and contribute to improvements in national nursing quality indicators and outcomes.

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum one year of RN experience required
• One year of operating room and/or cardiovascular or vascular experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Professional certification preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Acute care experience within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area
• Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations
