Med Surg RN Job in Roanoke, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 33-bed adult Medical Surgical unit at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 9, 2026, with a weekly pay of $1,944.

Schedule and Expectations

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2-week period
• Self-scheduling environment; all requested time off must be submitted with initial submission

Patient Care

• Patient ratio of 1:6, with potential flex to 1:7
• Care for adult and geriatric populations
• Common diagnoses include SCVA, SCI, TBI, amputee cases, and multi-trauma
• No telemetry on this unit

Clinical Responsibilities

• Peripheral line care and management
• Nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Oxygen administration and oxygen tank management
• Isolation precautions
• May float to nearby hospital Med Surg units as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical or Rehab nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• CRRN certification preferred
• CPI Blue Certification highly preferred
