Med Surg RN Job in Salem, VA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in the Medical Surgical unit at Lewisgale Medical Center VA in Salem. This is a night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekly pay of $2,070.

Unit Overview

You will work on a 36-bed medical surgical unit with 55 total employees. The night shift team includes one clinical coordinator, six RNs, and two techs. Your patient ratio will be 1:6.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to post-operative patients
• Perform wound care procedures and dressing changes
• Maintain and manage patient drains
• Monitor and support patients in a fast-paced environment

Equipment and Systems

You will work with Baxter IV pumps, Medfusion pumps, and sequential compression device (SCD) equipment. The unit uses Meditech as its electronic medical record system.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification required
• Competency with wound care, dressing changes, and drain management
• Experience with post-operative patients preferred
• Ability to function as a collaborative team member
• Strong patient advocacy skills
• Capability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment

Dress Code

Navy blue or white scrubs are required. Hoodies, pull-overs, and t-shirts are not permitted.
