PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• 4x10 day shifts with 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM start times
• No weekend shifts required
• Float required to other CPMC campuses as needed based on census
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• 24 orientation hours
• 2 years of PACU RN experience required, preferably in a high acuity care hospital
• ICU experience required
• Cath Lab experience preferred
• Travel experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Provides individualized nursing care using the nursing process for geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and infant patients from admission through discharge
• Requires knowledge of peri-anesthesia standards of care, airway management, nursing assessment parameters, and pharmacology including doses, purpose, interactions, side effects, and medication reactions
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS
• Valid CA RN Licensure required
• Key skills include airway assessment, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition and management, conscious sedation, pain assessment and management, IV vasopressor management, malignant hyperthermia protocol, and Phase I PACU care
