Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on an inpatient Medical Surgical unit with 25 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week period
• Floating policy requires floating over core staff
• Perform basic patient assessments and general care including wound care, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tubes
• Manage post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, and wound vacs
• Work with dialysis patients and PCA pumps as needed; heparin is the only drip used on unit
• Utilize equipment including Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps
• Document using Meditech system
• Follow patient experience requirements including bedside shift report, safety checks every 1-2 hours, and focus on listening and responsiveness
• Adhere to HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring with standard precautions
• Maintain 100% medication scanning including controlled substances
• Follow fall prevention protocols
• Dress code requires scrubs in Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
