NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with some 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM shifts depending on unit needs
• Patient ratio of 3:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Occasional on-call responsibilities required
• Float required to Mother/Baby and Postpartum units
• Every other weekend coverage required with 7 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
• Experience in Level II or Level III NICU required
• Experience attending deliveries and neonatal resuscitation required
• Mother/Baby couplet care experience required
• Postpartum experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Stabilize and manage infants at Level II NICU level (34 weeks and above)
• Perform and manage CPAP, UVC/UAC lines, nasal cannula, IV therapy, antibiotics, and blood transfusions
• Provide Eat/Sleep/Console care for drug withdrawal and gavage feedings for feeder-grower infants
• Stabilize and manage patients for transfer to higher level of care including intubation, surfactant, and umbilical line placement
• Care for patient diagnoses including hypoglycemia, prematurity greater than 34 weeks, drug withdrawal, rule-out sepsis, respiratory distress, and hyperbilirubinemia
• Operate specialized equipment including CPAP, infant ventilator, nasal cannula, Alaris and ICU Medical IV pumps, Medela breast pump, breast milk warmer, and Draeger infant warmer
• Charting experience in Epic required
• Community hospital experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and STABLE
• Valid California RN license required
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
