ED RN Job in Garden City, KS

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at CSH Mountain Region's float pool serving Zone 4 within a 60-mile radius of Garden City, KS. This position covers Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses, KS), St. Catherine-Dodge City (Dodge City, KS), and St. Catherine-Garden City (Garden City, KS). You will receive float assignments prior to each schedule with no home base facility.

Shift and Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No call or standby requirement

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5 based on acuity
• Treat 6–49 patients per day depending on location
• Manage common diagnoses: abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Administer standard ER medications and common drips
• Read and interpret telemetry independently (no monitor technicians available)
• Perform Point-of-Care lab testing after training

Support and Resources:

• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Charge nurse handles patient assignments
• Technicians support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and help in triage
• Unit-specific orientation: 2–3 days

Requirements and Details:

• Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
