ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of September 28, 2026. You'll be scheduled for 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM), earning $1,885 per week.

The Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department with 101 beds. Your patient assignments will typically be 4:1 for medical patients, with up to 7:1 ratios for ED behavioral holds. You must be flexible and willing to float across all ED sections; no floating outside the department is permitted. Block scheduling is not available, and every other weekend work is required with flexibility to meet department needs.

Clinical Environment

• Document using Cerner electronic health record system
• Operate Baxter infusion pumps and GE cardiac monitors
• Work alongside technicians in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage
• Collaborate with unit clerks available during both day and night shifts
• Follow AIDET patient experience standards, maintaining respectful communication and updated patient boards throughout each visit

Requirements

You must hold a current RN license and have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting. Preferred experience includes work in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with more than 100,000 annual visits.

Required certifications prior to your start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS. ENPC certification is required within 90 days of hire. Navy scrubs are the required dress code.
