Role Overview

You will deliver occupational therapy services to patients across the lifespan—from pre-teens through geriatric populations—in an outpatient hand therapy setting. Your caseload will focus on orthopedic upper extremity conditions, post-operative rehabilitation, acute injuries, workers' compensation cases, and chronic disorders. You will maintain a 1:1 patient ratio with no call or float responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments, evaluations, and develop plans of care
  • Fabricate and fit splints, including dynamic, functional, static, and serial/inhibitory splints for post-operative and acute cases
  • Perform reassessments and discharge planning
  • Provide patient and family education and home exercise programs
  • Document all patient care in the Epic charting system
  • Address safety and injury prevention across all treatment interventions

Schedule

Block scheduling with variable weekend coverage as needed. Your schedule will shift between Monday–Friday and Tuesday–Saturday arrangements based on facility needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an outpatient hand therapy setting
  • Current California OT License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential
  • Experience with nerve injury treatment, tendon repair, and soft tissue injury management
