Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required; day shift works Saturday/Sunday and night shift works Friday/Saturday
• Every other holiday required, including Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• No on-call responsibilities on this unit
• Self-scheduling allowed for travelers with block scheduling available depending on unit needs
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 for telemetry patients and 1:3-4 for stepdown patients
• Care for telemetry patients, post-catheterization patients, medical/surgical patients with telemetry monitoring needs, and patients with respiratory difficulty
• Perform point-of-care testing including blood sugar monitoring using AccuChek glucometer with barcode scanning
• Place IVs and draw labs from central lines when ordered
• Reconstitute antibiotics and manage titrating heparin for telemetry patients
• Must have understanding and comfort with basic dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry strip verification
• Administer nebulizers and breathing treatments when needed; no ventilators on unit
• May be asked to precept or take charge nurse role based on comfort level and unit needs
• Floating may occur to comparable or lower-level units including telemetry, med/surg, emergency department, or ICU
• Navy blue scrubs required; nurses must provide their own
• Charting system: EPIC; prior experience with EPIC preferred
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
