Med Surg RN Job in Morgantown, WV

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 20-bed Neuro unit at WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is a weekend night shift position: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday schedule. The contract runs 91 days with a start date of July 29, 2026, paying $2,229.12 weekly.

Your assignment focuses on acute neuro care including neurosciences, deep brain stimulators, stroke, seizures, and surgical or post-operative spine patients. You will manage a patient ratio of 1:5–6 floor patients, supported by 3 nurse aides per shift (1:7–10 aide ratio). A charge nurse is available 24/7.

You bring strong overall neuro experience with proficiency in G-tube management. Recent EPIC experience is required, as EPIC handles all charting and monitor documentation. Telemetry is available on the unit; you will document verification of monitor tech strip readings. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7, so vent experience is not required.

Common medications you will manage include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin. Titration is performed by physician orders with protocols provided. You will receive 1 shift of unit-specific orientation.

Requirements:

• Current BLS (AHA) certification at time of submission
• NIHSS certification in hand at time of submission
• ACLS preferred
• BSN not required
• Any background hits must be disclosed at submission

Holiday rotation is required as needed. Floating may occur to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E as first priority, then to other hospital units. The cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract. Wear any combination of white and royal blue scrubs.
