Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 4x12 or 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekday and weekend shifts required with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• 34-bed med/surg unit with telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7
• Daily census of approximately 30 patients
• Adult patient population
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• WV or Compact nursing license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be through American Heart Association where applicable)
• Charting system: Cerner
• Skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care and management, chest tube management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, telemetry and remote monitoring, PCA, peripheral and PICC line management, phlebotomy, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drain management, tracheostomy care, use of rapid response and code teams, and wound care/wound vac
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Attendance policy strictly enforced - facility will only tolerate 2-3 call offs per contract
