Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Details:

• Inpatient position on 5N, a 12-bed oncology unit with med/surg overflow
• Night shift schedule working 3x12 or 4x12 hours
• Weekday shifts with every other weekend coverage required
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; minimum 2 years RN experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• IV start skills required
• Blocked schedule available
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all through American Heart Association)
• ONS chemo/bio certification preferred
• Key skills include chemotherapy administration, accessing and managing ports, central line care, administration of blood and blood products, IV push administration, PICC line care, Foley catheter insertion and management, wound care, and neutropenic precautions
• Patients served include adults and geriatric populations
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
• Facility allows a maximum of 2-3 call-offs per contract
• WV or Compact nursing license required; pending license accepted for submission
