Med Surg RN Job in Morgantown, WV

You will join a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit with medical/surgical overflow at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, WV, serving adult and geriatric patients. This is a 13-week contract with the possibility of extension.

Role and Schedule

• Position: Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical specialty
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule options: 3x12 or 4x12 nights, weekdays with every other weekend required
• Blocked schedule available
• Patient ratio: 1:5–6 patients, maximum 6 per nurse on days, nights, and weekends

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for patients on the med/surg unit with oncology experience preferred but not required
• Administer chemotherapy on unit
• Perform IV starts
• Manage patient care across medical and surgical populations

Requirements

• Current RN license: WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (BLS and ACLS must be through the American Heart Association)
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• ONS chemo/bio certification preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• IV start skills required

Additional Information

• Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
• Weekly pay: $2,431
• Facility expects reliability: only 2–3 call-offs tolerated per contract
