Telemetry RN Job in Altoona, PA

West Central – UPMC Altoona is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Telemetry position in Altoona, PA. You will work three 12-hour shifts per week during day hours, providing skilled patient care and monitoring in a fast-paced telemetry unit.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care activities for assigned patients and their families through clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork
• Formulate individualized daily care plans using a holistic nursing approach
• Apply critical thinking to identify clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual needs within each patient episode
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to achieve positive patient outcomes
• Implement the nursing process within a Relationship-Based Care framework to support healing
• Incorporate evidence-based practice and research to drive improvements in clinical care
• Educate patients and families to guide them through care episodes and transitions
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives specific to your department or unit
• Document and communicate patient conditions comprehensively to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications Required:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pennsylvania Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 clearances
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Assignment Details:

This 89-day travel assignment begins September 8, 2026. You will earn $2,521 per week working your scheduled 12-hour day shifts. This is a unique opportunity to deliver quality patient care, develop your clinical skills, and experience working within a well-established healthcare system.
