ED RN Job in Des Moines, IA

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 6-month travel contract position offering consistent day-shift hours in a high-acuity clinical environment.

Position Details

• Specialty: Emergency Department (ED)
• Shift: 12-hour days, 3 shifts per week
• Schedule: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Contract duration: 181 days
• Start date: August 3, 2026

Compensation

• Weekly pay: $2,342.34

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting. Your responsibilities include triaging patients, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with emergency procedures, and communicating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, quality care. You will work alongside experienced ED staff and participate in the full scope of emergency nursing practice.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in Iowa
• ED or acute care experience preferred
