Physical Therapist Job in Merced, CA

You'll provide inpatient physical therapy services in an acute care setting at Mercy Medical Center Merced. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 14, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,448.

Your Schedule

• 4x10 days: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
• 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM shifts
• Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts during your assignment

Your Role

You'll float between inpatient and outpatient settings as needed. The outpatient center is 2.5 miles away (approximately 8-minute drive). You'll treat adult and geriatric inpatient populations with orthopedic, neurological, medical, and pulmonary diagnoses. Outpatient caseloads range from pediatric to geriatric with diverse patient needs.

Your responsibilities include participating in the early mobility program, including ventilator early mobility level 2 services. You'll work within a JCAHO-certified Stroke program and Total Joint Program specializing in elective hip and knee procedures.

Facility Details

• Charting system: Cerner (upgraded version)
• General department orientation with skills checklist and assigned clinician mentor
• Dress code: Burgundy polo or long sleeve shirt, black pants, and appropriate shoes

Requirements

• Current California PT license
• BLS certification (AHA)

You'll receive a general orientation and work alongside an assigned clinician to ensure you're comfortable with facility protocols and patient populations.
