Physical Therapist Job in Alturas, CA

Modoc Medical Center is hiring a Physical Therapist for a 63-day travel assignment beginning September 30, 2026. This is a day shift position working 5x8 hours per week at $3,051 weekly pay.

Your Role

You will provide physical therapy services under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy, working with patient populations across the lifespan—neonates, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general patients. You'll assess patient pain levels, contact physicians when intervention is needed, and formulate individualized teaching plans based on patient learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer physical agents prescribed by referring physicians
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings in accordance with current standards
• Manage and operate physical therapy equipment safely and correctly
• Coordinate department operations to ensure efficient service delivery
• Maintain department cleanliness and safety compliance
• Collaborate with other departments on patient care coordination and performance improvement
• Train nursing and hospital staff using on-the-job training methods
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities
• Stay current with trends in rehabilitative medicine

Required Qualifications

• Current California licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist
• Current BCLS certification
• Minimum 3 years of previous physical therapy experience preferred
• Knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
• Knowledge of infection control and sterile techniques
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
• Ability to remain calm and respond positively during crisis situations

Additional language skills are preferred. You'll maintain professional appearance and wear your identification badge while on duty.
