PACU Registered Nurse Job in Sioux City, IA

UnityPoint - St. Luke's Downtown in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This is a temporary position on a day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts per week for 91 days, starting October 12, 2026.

Role and Responsibilities

You will contribute your clinical knowledge and skills as a member of the interdisciplinary care team, managing post-anesthesia patients with a 1:2 patient ratio. The facility uses the EPIC electronic medical record system. You may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses and to serve as a resource in other areas including ICU, though you will not assume ICU patient assignments.

Scheduling and Expectations

You will be on-call every third weekend for either 12 or 24 hours, with potential for 2 to 4 additional nights weekly. This role requires flexibility and reliability in meeting scheduling demands.

Requirements

• Active Iowa nursing license or compact nursing license with Nursys verification
• Minimum 2+ years of PACU experience
• ACLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates accepted)
• BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates accepted)
• PALS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates accepted)
• PACU-specific skills checklist
• One supervisory reference form completed within the last two years
• Valid driver's license; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
