PACU Registered Nurse Job in Cedar Rapids, IA

UnityPoint - St. Luke's Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This is a temporary position working days on a 5x8 flex schedule with an expected duration of 91 days, starting October 12, 2026.

Position Details

• Unit size: 12 beds with a 2:1 patient ratio
• Patient population: all types
• Every other weekend schedule required, as needed
• On-call as needed (no formal on-call requirement currently)
• Required to work 1–2 of 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless unit is closed

Qualifications Required

• Minimum 12 months PACU / post anesthesia care experience
• 24 months of current PACU / post anesthesia care experience reflected in work history
• Current and recent pediatric care experience
• EPIC EMR experience
• Strong experience reading and measuring telemetry
• Drips and titration experience
• Experience in hospital, medical center, same day surgery, and/or outpatient surgery settings
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• BLS (AHA/ARC), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA) certifications
• PACU / post anesthesia care skills checklist completion

What to Expect

You will care for post-anesthesia patients in a structured 12-bed unit. Hospital-provided scrubs are required. You must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,476.80
