Med Surg RN Job in Gardner, MA

You will provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts. This is a night shift position working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, for a 91-day assignment beginning November 2, 2026. Your weekly pay is $2,385.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and intravenous therapy in accordance with physician orders, protocols, and procedures
• Assess and reassess patient pain levels using the numerical pain scale and notify physicians as needed
• Interpret and document patient cardiac rate, rhythm, and configuration and initiate appropriate treatment plans
• Evaluate and take appropriate action for patients experiencing chest pain or other cardiac-related symptoms
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment such as traction and orthopedic devices, feeding pumps, chest tubes, and drains
• Recognize normal and abnormal laboratory and diagnostic results and notify physicians of changes in a timely manner
• Participate actively in daily multidisciplinary rounds for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating patient care
• Complete thorough and accurate documentation of pertinent data, therapeutic interventions, and patient responses
• Provide patient and family teaching based on identified learning needs
• Collaborate on discharge planning incorporating appropriate support systems and resources
• Institute appropriate measures in life-threatening situations
• Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by other team members

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts RN license
• ACLS certification required upon hire
• Acute telemetry experience required
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical experience preferred
• MOAB class required within 60 days of hire
