ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Night shift position with every other weekend and every other holiday scheduling
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6 in main emergency department
• Patient ratio of 1:6 in behavioral health locked units
• 54-bed emergency department seeing approximately 120 visits per day
• Serves patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Primary Stroke Center (Gold Plus designation with AHA) with 4-hour annual stroke CEU requirement
• STEMI cases will be transferred if cardiac catheterization intervention is needed
• 2 locked units within the ED dedicated to behavioral health care, supported by ED staffing and security team
• 2 rapid evaluation units for urgent care and critical care needs with rapid medical screenings
• Charting system: Cerner
• Community hospital experience required
• 3 years of experience required
• Candidates will float within hospital within scope
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, Prophecy Relias Advanced EKG, CEN preferred
• Required skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, IV vasopressor management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, triage, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and central line care and management
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Valid Maryland or Compact license required
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and interpretation services
