ED Registered Nurse Job in Olney, MD

Join MedStar Montgomery Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. You will work three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and every other holiday required. There are no on-call responsibilities.

In this role, you will care for patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. You will manage a patient ratio of 4:1 and provide general emergency department care in a combined adult and pediatric setting. Key responsibilities include:

• Blood product administration
• Care of ventilated patients
• Central line care and management
• Emergency medication administration
• Isolation precautions and PPE compliance
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• IV insertion and maintenance
• Triage assessment

Requirements: You must have a minimum of 2 years of recent emergency department experience within the last 7 years and have completed at least one prior travel assignment. Cerner charting system experience is required. You must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms.

Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS. Preferred certifications include TNCC and ENCP. Previous charge nurse experience is preferred. A Maryland compact or Maryland nursing license is required.

This assignment is 91 days with a start date of September 9, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,024.
