ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• Every other weekend required, including both Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday coverage is required during the contract period
• One pre-approved time-off request is permitted per contract and must be included at time of contract review
• Float within scope between units to meet facility needs, including two rapid evaluation units for urgent care and critical care needs
• Support two locked Behavioral Health units in the ED with a 1:6 patient ratio
• General patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:6
• Treat neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Department averages approximately 120 visits per day across a 54-bed Emergency Department
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience required; may consider 2 years of Level I or Level II trauma experience
• Precepting and training experience preferred
• Block scheduling is not available
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Charting system: Cerner with FirstNet and Launch
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and Prophecy Relias Advanced Emergency Department assessment
• 4 hours of annual stroke continuing education units required
• CEN certification preferred
• Required skills include: arterial line management, blood product administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, triage, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, isolation precautions and PPE, and general emergency department combined adult and pediatric care
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
