PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's Trauma Telemetry unit (A4W Trauma Tele) on the 5th floor of the main building as a Registered Nurse. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of October 19, 2026.

About the Role

You will work in a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit with a team of 50+ staff members. Day shift ratios are 1:5–6 RN to patient, and night shift ratios are 1:6–7 RN to patient. Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC, and 1–2 sitters. Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, 0.5 HUC, and 1–2 sitters.

Shift and Schedule

You will work 3 shifts of 12 hours on days, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. You must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekend shifts on night shift). Weekly compensation is $2,102.40.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Monitor patients using medical remote telemetry, Cerner Patient Observation (CPO), and VC150s in every patient room
• Use workstations on wheels and Tap and Go for computer and documentation access
• Document using Cerner EMR
• Prepare patients for Endoscopy, IR, and OR procedures
• Float to sister units including Med-Surg units 3W, 5W, and K8 as needed

Required Qualifications

• RN degree
• BLS certification
• Medical telemetry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• CMSRN certification
• Leadership and charge nurse experience
• BSN degree
