Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift position in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Med/Tele unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• On-call required; holiday coverage includes 2 on-call shifts OR 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks
• Floating based on critical staffing needs to a lower level of care within traveler's skillset is expected
• Block scheduling is not available
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Must be able to pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and Moderate Sedation Test on first day of orientation - one attempt only
• Shaving may be required to pass fit testing requirements onsite
• Attendance policy in effect - more than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract cancellation
• All requested time off must be included on initial submission; RTO requested after the fact will not be considered
• Guaranteed hours based on signed contract hours
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, modes of mechanical ventilation (CV, CMV, A/C, SIMV, PS, PC, IRV +/- PEEP), vent training for home, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
• Patient diagnoses include acute respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation, sepsis, osteomyelitis, acute renal failure, pneumonia, heart failure, flap, and post-COVID conditions
• Special procedures include mechanical ventilation and dialysis
• Special equipment includes Vapotherm
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more
• Recent EPIC experience preferred but not required
• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
