Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• Work on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Unit staffing includes Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians
• Must work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Contract nurses may be floated to any area where competency has been demonstrated
• Must have Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience including ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Must have experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart surgery, and permanent pacemaker placements
• Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Procedures performed on unit include IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap, Welch Allen Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitors, EKG Machine, Bladder Scanner, Doppler, and Imobile for team communication
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required dress code: Navy Blue scrubs; black scrub pants with Navy Blue top are acceptable
• Must align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect, using patients' preferred names, making personal connections, involving patients in bedside shift report, and always ensuring patient needs are met before leaving the room
